Rafting in Nepal
Rafting in nepal
Nepal 's dramatic Himalayan glaciers feed has some of the most challenging rivers in the world for white water rafting. Pummeling down through the world's deepest gorges from the world's highest mountains, an abundance of warm water rivers drift the adventurer past mountain scenery, terraced villages and huge white-sand beaches for camping.
Out on the river one really starts to feel that quality called River Magic as the rubber raft drifts, sometimes gently, sometimes madly, through wild rapids and tranquil, looking-glass passages. Around every bend in the river lies another exotic sight as you float through the culturally abundant countryside of Nepal .

In the evening one can explore isolated villages, shower under warm waterfalls or watch the kayakers play boating. There is a wide choice of trips graded in difficulty on an international scale from Grade 1 to 6, Grade 1 being easy moving water and Grade 6 being hazardous to life. A thrilling range of excitement comes in between!

Short Rafting Trips:

Short trips take between one and three days and do not involve any trekking. Some of these trips involve less challenging white water like on Seti River, Trishuli River and are ideally suited to first time rafters and families. Others attract experienced thrill-seekers with their world-class rapids like Bhote Koshi.

Seti Khola: A Picturesque Family Trip (2 days) Most of the year, the Seti (class 2 to 3+) - famous for its dazzling scenery - is a gentle river, which attracts families, bird watchers, nature lovers and dreamers.

Trishuli River: The Classic River (1 to 3 days) For first time paddlers, a trip down the Trishuli is an experience not to be missed (class 3 to 4+ in high water). This trip can be easily combined with a visit to Chitwan National Park or Pokhara.

Bhote Koshi: The Harmony of Tibet (2 days) The Bhote Koshi is one of the best short whitewater adventures in Nepal (class 4 to 5). On the way to the river you’ll enjoy great mountain views but once you’re on the river – nonstop whitewater adventure starts!

Kali Gandaki: The River of God (3 days) Named after the Goddess Kali and descending through the deepest gorge in Asia, this fabulous river (class 3 to 4+ rapids) offers a mixture of breathtaking mountain views and pure adrenaline.

Long Rafting Trips:

Our longer trips take you into some of Nepal’s most remote areas. Often they begin with short treks to the river. Many of our long trips finish close to some of less easily accessible National Parks. You may wish to combine your rafting trip with a safari adventure and go in search of our native tigers, bears and rhinos!

Marshyangdi River: The Raging River (3-4 days) Descending from Himalayan giants of famous Annapurna, passing the route of round Annapurna trekking, beautiful villages and guarding temples on the river bank, Marshyangdi river promises you an unforgettable trip with continuous class 4 to -5 rapids. It's a real adventure of one day easy trekking and 2 to 3 days of intense white water rafting.

Sun Koshi River: The River of Gold (7 to 9 days) The Sun Koshi (class 4 to 5) is one among the 10 most exciting whitewater rafting in the world. Passing remote villages, mountains covered with forests and rice terraces, the river offers once-in-a-lifetime experience… particularly during high waters, when the rapids can swell to massive sizes, sometimes making the rafts completely disappear from sight!

Karnali River: The Wild West (10 days) A short trek leads you to the Karnali, Nepal’s largest and longest river. On the river, a series of challenging class 4 to 5 rapids takes you through narrow canyons and dense jungle full of diverse flora & fauna. The trip ends close to Bardia National Park - you can combine your rafting with wildlife safari adventure.

Tamur River: The Best of The East (11 days) Breathtaking 4-day trek through remote Eastern Nepal promises an amazing view of Mt. Makalu, Mt. Kanchanjanga and rhododendron forest. River part offers you 120 kilometer descent through hundreds of most exciting class 4 to 5 rapids. The Tamur gives you an opportunity to explore a beautiful, but rarely seen part of Nepal by foot and raft or kayak.

Sun Koshi/Tamur: For Adventure Lovers (11 days) The unique Sun Koshi trip is followed by a short driving and camping on the adjoining Tamur River. The next morning, we raft the Tamur, which is a very powerful and exciting river with over 30 class 4+ rapids in succession. This extra day trip to the Tamur is the best way to end the Sun Koshi rafting experience.
