Historically, the region is an exquisite treasure-trove of ancient ruins and antiquities, dating back to pre-Christian era. The site, described as a beautiful garden in the Buddha's time still retain its legendary charm and beauty. To the mere 12 miles north of Lumbini lies the dense and picturesque sal-grove.
Palpa was the seat of the seen kingdom that ruled over this region from 16th century for almost 300 years, which gives it a historical touch. A special of the region is the much popular Palpali Dhaka, weaved here. There are many places around Tansen, which are quite interesting for visitors in terms of scenery and historical importance. Shrinagar Hill provides excellent views of the Himalayas Annapurna, Dhaulagiri range and the surround valley. Tansen Bazaar to the summit of Shrinager Hill is a short, pleasant hike across forest and passing through several Hindu sites.
The picturesque hill town of Tansen lies on the lap of the well-known Shrinagar Hills. Headquarters of the Palpa district, Tansen is also the hub of cultural renaissance. It falls on the way to Pokhara in Siddhartha Highway. The charming natural setting combines with its rich cultural heritage to give visitors a wholesome holiday. Tansen also offers enchanting walks leading to interesting sites, whether it is a day of travels around shrinagar Hills or few-days back packing along River Kaligandaki. In addition Tansen qualifies as a pilgrim's choice, given its several Hindu temples.
Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu then transfer to the Hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu: Durbar Square and Swayambhunath.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara then transfer to hotel.
Day 4: Full day sightseeing: Davi’s fall, Gupteshwar Cave, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Bindabashini Temple and Bajrabarahi temple.
Day 5: Drive to Syangja then trek to Sirubari.
Day 6: Sightseeing in Sirubari and free in afternoon.
Day 7: Sirubari to Tansen by drive then transfer to Hotel.
Day 8: Drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha then transfer to Hotel.
Day 9: Full day sightseeing in Lumbini.
Day 10: Drive to Bhairawa then fly back to Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel.
Day 11: Rest & Souvenir Shopping in Kathmandu
Day 12: Transfer to airport for final departure. |
