Lhasa is Capital of Tibet (3,700 m) is a cultural city with a history going back 1,300 years. Potala Palace is the most comprehensive art treasure house of cultural relics in Tibetan area of China. The magnificent Potala Palace, former seat of the Dalai Lamas, presides over the city. Built in 1645 on the top of a hill, the palace contains 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines and 200,000 religious statues. The old city revolves around the Jokhang Temple and the quaint Barkhor market that surrounds it. The Jhokhang, built in the seventh century, is the holiest Buddhist shrine in Tibet. Its mural paintings, finely worked golden roofs and other works of art are something to see. At a little distance from the old city core, Lhasa is also a modern capital of concrete high-rises, fancy department stores and wide boulevards.
Couple of day's visits around Lhasa and your trip to Gyatse is located 260 km to the southwest of Lhasa. This trading town was a major stop on the legendary India-Tibet caravan route. Gyantse centerpiece is the Kumbum Stupa which is 32 m high and contains 77 rooms and 100,000 images of the Buddha.also shigatse is second Largest city in Tibet and you will visit to the Tashilagpo Monastery.continuse trip to Tingri and over the Pang La Pass (at 5200m) from where, in clear weather, the view of Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyo is stunning.Ronbuk is small village and there is only two acomodation.from Ronbuk you will have Great view of North face of Mt.Everest.from Ronbuk 8 k.m.drive to Everest base Camp and explore Base Camp with Top of the world.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Pick up from the International Airport, transfer to Hotel & well come diner
Day 02: Sightseeing in kathmandu valley visit pashupatinath, boudhanath,soyambunath and kathmandu durbar square etc.
Day 03: Tibet visa perpetrations and sightseeing in bhaktapur and patan durbar square.
Day 04: Kathmandu - Lhasa (3,650 m):- Fly Trans - Himalayan flight to Tibet
(Gongaar airport) (1 hr.) - Drive to Lhasa (2 hrs.) - Full rest for
acclimatization.
Day 05: In Lhasa:-Visit Potala Palace. PM: Visit Jokhang Temple & Barkhor
Bazaar.
Day 06: In Lhasa:-Visit Drepung Monastery. PM: Visit Sera Monastery
Day 07: Lhasa - Gyantse (3,950 m) 26 km: Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and high passes: Karo La (5,010 m) & Kamba La (4,794 m).
Day 08: Gyantse - Xigatse (3,900 m) 90 km: Sightseeing in Gyantse including
Phalkor & Kumbum Monasteries, etc. PM: Scenic drive to Xigatse (2 hrs)
through the typical Tibetan countryside .
Day 09: Xigatse - Tingri (4,100 m) 270 km: Visit Panchen Lama's Tashilhumpu
Monastery, PM: Drive to Tingri crossing over Gyatchu La (a pass of 5,220 m).
Day 10: Tingri - Ronbuk (4,980 m): Scenic drive to Ronbuk through the
beautiful Tibetan countryside. Explore Ronbuk Monastery (highest monastery
in the world). Camp.
Day 11: Explore Everest BC (5,150 m) 8 km: rive to Everest BC and explore BC
with the highest peak right in front of you as if communicating with you
have been able make it to the base camp of the Mt. Everest - Camp.
Day 12: Everest BC - Tingri 132 km: Drive back to Tingri through the
beautiful Tibetan landscape companied by the lingering impression of the
highest mountain range of the Himalayas .
Day 13: Tingri - Nyalam (3,700 m) / Zhagmu (2,300 m) 187 km /219 km: Drive
back to Nyalam / Zhangmu by over crossing the Lalung La Pass (5,050 m) from
where one can enjoy the magnificent view of the Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m) and
Mt. Xishapagma (8,212 m) being dwarfed by the height of the Tibet itself .
Day 14: Nyalam / Zhangmu - Kathmandu: After necessary border formalities,
scenic drive to Kathmandu through the beautiful countryside of Nepal (4-5 hrs) - Transfer to your hotel.
Day 15: Free/shopping day in Kathmandu over night in Hotel.
Day 16: Transfer to International Airport and fly home.
